From 19 to 23 April in Santa Maria Novella the meeting of all the Dominican provincial priors and vicar provincials of Europe, together with the Master of the Order!

The provincial priors and vicars of the Dominican vicariates in Europe will have their annual meeting (IEOP) in Florence from 19 to 23 April at the Dominican convent of Santa Maria Novella. The twenty-two superiors will meet together with the Master of the Order, Friar Gerard Timoner III op, accompanied by some members of the General Council. If the war permits, the Vicar for Ukraine will also be present, who has remained in Kiev to date together with his brothers to assist the population. To do the honors of the house Br. Antonio Cocolicchio, prior provincial of the Roman province of Santa Caterina da Siena (central Italy) and the friars of the community of Florence.

The agenda is packed with several sessions a day, including one dedicated to getting to know the venerable Giorgio la Pira with an intervention by Dr. Mario Primicerio. The liturgies will be at the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella in the three official languages ​​of the Dominican Order (Spanish, English and French). Also present at the important European event were the student friars who usually live their formation in the convent of Santa Maria sopra Minerva in Rome.

The program also includes a visit to the Museum of San Marco, a living and historical place of Dominican memory especially through the frescoes by Beato Angelico and a mass will be celebrated in the Basilica of San Marco.

The Opera for Santa Maria Novella together with the community of Florentine Dominican friars will offer the IEOP assembly on the evening of 21 April at 9 pm a precious concert by the famous jazz trumpeter Paolo Fresu with the Alborada string quartet. The concert is free and open to the public, without reservations and subject to availability.
