800 years of Dominican presence in our city of Florence!

On November 20 we will celebrate the exact 800 years since the first 12 friars, led by Blessed Giovanni da Salerno, entered the primitive church of S. Maria delle Vigne. Join us for this day so significant for the history of the Dominican Order and of Florence!

The first friars recount: Reading of the Ancient Chronicles accompanied by the organ master Daniele Dori

6 p.m.

Solemn Mass presided by His Exc. Mons. Andrea Bellandi, Archbishop of Salerno-Campagna-Acerno

7.30 p.m.

Concert: The choir of the Archdiocese of Salerno-Campagna-Acerno will animate the solemn pontifical and will follow a concert of Sacred Music, on the occasion of the Jubilee of the 800 years since the settlement of the Dominican friars in Santa Maria Novella

The events will be broadcast live on our social channels Facebook and YouTube.

The basilica will remain open all day with free admission.

As per government regulations, a valid green pass is required for all events and visits, except for Holy Mass
